Happiness on FaceBook

Have you seen this Facebook app to support the positive psychology  exercise “Three Good Things”?  Participants in this exercise record  Three Good Things, and the reasons why they happen, every day. There  are some other versions of this exercise out there (including an  iPhone app and one on happier.com), but this is a way to make these exercises more effective using social interaction.

This app is at http://apps.facebook.com/threegoodthings/, but the page with  more info is at http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=119352832576&v=info. It is free to use, but because it is research, they ask participants to complete very brief surveys after 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6  months of use.

This could be a great way to spread your own happiness.

The more we can focus on things that we allow to trigger the release of happiness from within ourselves the more often we will feel happiness. The more that we allow ourselves to feel happiness the more we will attract situations and circumstances that we will allow ourseves to trigger the release of happiness from within….a wonderful loop of happiness!

  5. I have actually used this app on my iphone and it is a nice addition. It can certainly help cheer you up if you are having a bad day.

  6. That’s cool. I’ve done something similar before with my family as we ate dinner with one another.

  7. Thank you for sharing the happiness. I could be able to get involve and try it as well. I’m always at my FaceBook lately.

  8. I used to do an activity with a friend where we’d send each other an email daily, outlining five things that had made us happy that day. I found it really uplifting, and it’s good to see this expanded on sites such as facebook. I think we all need to share the happiness a bit more.

  9. Interesting, I guess I’ll give it a shot. I found that my happiness was greatly impeded with Facebook though. 😀

  10. I am always happy anyway.

  11. Yes yes…….. I’ve seen the application and heard about it. It’s a facebook application. Its very useful and I think it would be helpful to share it. One friend of mine forwarded it to me. I apply it with my friends and we cheer up.

  12. Social media is a natural medium for this sort of thing. And anything that promotes positive thought is a winner in my book.
