Nap Power

A power nap a couple times a day works wonders for the body and the mind.

Naps give you a break.  While napping, your mind can go blank.  Take a break.  Have a rest.

When you nap, your brain can regenerate, file away information, built links between the thoughts you’ve had.  Make some sort of order and sense of it all.

A nap allows your body also to rest.  If you work a highly physical job, the muscles will love you for it.  If you work a stressful job, a nap is the ideal way to relieve the stress.  Yes, mental stress leads to physical stress, and a nap releases that stress.

When you return to the land of the living, you will be more productive.  Power naps are a productivity tool!  Just be careful not to fall asleep for too long – then you might be sluggish for the rest of the day – hardly productive at all.

  1. Very interesting. i love it..

  2. Thanks for the advice. Another great way to give your mind and brain a break during the day (if you can’t nap for some reason) is to simply meditate. Many people say they “can’t” sit still or meditate but its quite simple and the more you practice it, the more you’ll enjoy it….and reap all of its benefits.

  3. Ha! My mom calls that “the sleep cure.” All I know is that when I’m well rested, I’m happy, which means my kids are happy, which means everyone has a happy day. And I’m all about that! 😉

  4. I could not agree with your post more. Especially around 2:30. Since I work from home I take a nice little 30 minute nap and by 3 o’clock I feel rested and ready to go again.

  5. I agree. Sadly haven’t developed a routine so naps come to me spontaneously difficult at work.

  6. Spain is the country which invented the nap or “siesta”; at least they say that. Thanks for this post.
